How Our Agency Started

Our agency started four years ago by Founder/CEO - Kurt Kummerer a seasoned medical sales/sales management professional in Corporate America. Kurt always had an itch he wanted to scratch, which was to run his own business. Be his own boss.

Why recruiting?

Well, at the time Kurt was a single parent with the responsibility of his child 100% of the time. So, what could he start as he had virtually no capital and keep a roof over his head that gave him ultimate flexibility? Recruiting! Having been approached about getting into recruiting multiple times before and rebuffing every time now was the time he decided to give it a try.

If the recruiters who Kurt dealt with over the years could make a living, then why couldn’t he? So EK Recruiting was born. EK stands for the initials of Kurt’s child as this gave Kurt the best chance to provide for his child now and in the future.

How Do We Work?

Engaged/Retained Search - Engaged/Retained search is when you have a difficult need that’s going to require extensive time and resources to find the candidate you want to hire. This may be a search that has been going on for 6 to 12+ months in an industry where there’s not a lot of available talent. Or willingness by that talent to make a move. This type of search is commonly used for more senior level positions - 15 to 20+ year senior positions, CEO, CFO, and COO roles.

Our CEO - Kurt Kummerer personally works on every engaged/retained search. You receive weekly updates and he’s available to you at any time.

We require a non-refundable deposit of 1/4 of the total placement fee due at signing of the engaged/retained contract in order to commence that search. The remaining 3/4’s of the fee will be due on that candidate’s start date.

Contingency Search - You pay us when we find the winning candidate.
